1898 Wei Hai Wei Courier Post First Issue 2 cents black on red horizontal strip of 3, mint no gum as issued, with
complete inverted postmaster's signature on back. Extremely rare to find a complete signature, especially inverted.
ECL certificate included (2001). Chan LWH1.
Only 8 sheets of 98 stamps (total 784) of the 2 cents denomination were produced. These stamps were signed in
continuous horizontal rows on the back of the sheet by the postmaster, Mr. G. K. Fergusson. This item with a clear
complete inverted signature is very important as it suggests that one sheet was probably signed upside down.

signature on back and paper joint at left margin, extremely rare combination. ECL certificate included (2001). Chan
LWH2a.
Only 4 sheets of 98 stamps (total 392) of the 5 cents denomination were produced. These stamps were signed in
continuous horizontal rows on the back of the sheet by the postmaster, Mr. G. K. Fergusson. The vertical signature
suggests that either one sheet was signed vertically instead of horizontally or that the postmaster signed the margins
vertically as well.
