tied by 'HONG-KONG' double lined cds, Webb type 9,
matching the 'PAID AT HONG KONG' medium crown
cds in red, Webb type 8. Manuscript '2' and handstamped
'2' in black circle. In fair condition with some toning.

'S1' in blue, on reverse matching the 'SHANGHAE/A' in

m/s '1/4' rate, 'LONDON/PAID' arrival cds, very nice

1890 (25 Dec.) A print matter rate of Siemssen & Co's
cover to HK local, bearing QV 2c dull purple fiscal tied
by single ring HK cds. QV 2c carmine was withhold
for 'Jubilee 189' overprint. Official usage of 2 cents
fiscal from 21-30 Dec. 1890 to replace the 2c shortage.
Cover within the period either 2c carmine and 2c fiscal
extremely scarce. This probably the only recorded usage
